I'm 24 years old, grew up in a small village and moved to Ghent 2 years ago to be able to persue drag. I had my first gig about 3 years ago after contemplating for a long time. My interest in drag started after watching drag race (as for many people). I started watching right after season 6 finished. I've always been interested in performing arts, but I never knew which specific direction to choose within that field, until I found out about drag and realised I don't have to pick just one direction. That's the beauty of drag: the celebration of someone's creative expression, no matter how they decide to express that.

Inspiration and creative process

“My own gender identity is my biggest source of inspiration (as cliché as it might sound). I'm still figuring out how I identify myself, and drag for me is the perfect way to express how I feel, that's also the reason why my drag fluctuates so heavily between our ideas of "male" and "female".”

“My creative process usually starts with makeup, since I have the most experience with that. I usually start doing my makeup without a specific idea in mind and let my face be "built" organically, the wig/nails/outfit/shoes are always an afterthought.”

“My drag heavily depends on my mood, so for me there often isn't a recurring theme since our mood/feelings are ever changing/evolving.”

“I would describe my on-stage presence as an extension of my everyday self. A lot of drag artists see their drag as a "persona", for me it feels most like my true self when I'm in drag, all my walls are down and I get to truly live.”

On-stage presence

“I originally studied performing arts in high school, so for me it's something that's been in my life for quite a while. I would describe my on-stage presence as an extension of my everyday self. A lot of drag artists see their drag as a "persona", for me it feels most like my true self when I'm in drag, all my walls are down and I get to truly live.”

“I have many role models such as Troye Sivan, Adore Delano, Bimini Bon Boulash, Nana Youngrong Kim, Aya Sato, Amanda Pleaseme.”

Upcoming events

“I don't have any more events planned in the near future so I'm gonna focus on creating new looks for now. I do however wanna say that I'll soon begin with the preparations of the second edition of my own drag show called "As above so below" so do keep an eye out for that!”
